Employer Q&A ~ How to narrow your search by using these tools.

WHAT IF THE CREW MEMBER I’M LOOKING FOR IS NOT YET REGISTERED?
We are a brand new service, so this is a possibility.
Go to your profile page. Type in a brief note about about the project, i.e., “Doing a 3 day shoot. Are you avail?” Send them an invitation to join.
Coming soon, you will be able to invite them to the actual project but for now, the personal invite is the quickest way to get them to join. Once they join, repeat the crew search and click on their name when it comes up.

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR USING THIS SERVICE?
We are offering free service to all production employers and crew at this time.

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO JOIN AS AN EMPLOYER?
AICP commercial production companies and their staff.
Freelancers Department Heads in commercials, such as Producers, Production Supervisors, Production Coordinators, Art Directors, Key Grips, etc.

AM I LIABLE FOR BOOKING ISSUES? IS THE PRODUCTION COMPANY LIABLE?
You would be responsible to the same extent as if you booked a crewmember through your personal email or via a phone call.
The corporate entity, (production company or agency or payroll company) is the employer of record, not the freelance employee who books the crew.
You are responsible for knowing union rules, state and federal labor laws and penalties for cancellations, etc. We are not an employment agency. We do not take commissions or vouch for crewmembers.
We simply created a system to make it easier to find, hold and book crew.

WHAT IS A FREELANCE ACCOUNT VERSUS A CORPORATE ACCOUNT?
A corporate account would be a production company, ad agency or client, and any staff members who fall under its umbrella.

A freelance account is for contracted employees who hire other employees.
Example: A freelance Production Supervisor who then books other crew members on behalf of a production company or other employer. An Art Director who books his/her crew on behalf of a production company, etc.
The corporate entity, (production company or agency or payroll company) is the actual employer, not the freelance employee who books the crew.

WHAT IF AN EMPLOYER BOOKS ME AND THERE IS A LABOR ISSUE?
This works in the exact same way as if someone were to hold you or book you via a phone call or email. The corporate entity, (production company / their payroll company) is the employer of record. They are responsible for knowing union rules, state and federal labor laws and penalties for cancellations, etc. We are not an employment agency. We do not take commissions or vouch for employers.
We simply created a system to make it easier for them to find, hold and book you.
